(Paige) Ashman Memorial … $1,000 (one-time)

Awarded annually to a deserving undergraduate student and graduate student having demonstrated excellence in the field of Materials Engineering and are active in departmental 活动.

Ron Roman … $1,200 (one-time)

Ron Roman is a two-time NMT alumnus (Metallurgy BS 1963, MS 1964). Employed by Union Carbide and then self-employed, he designed the largest uranium processing plant in 世界. This scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student who has demonstrated excellence in Materials Engineering and contributed to NM Tech’s research 努力.

Karl Staudhammer Student of the Year Award … $1,000 (one-time)

Karl Staudhammer is an NMT alumnus (Metallurgy PhD 1975) and plutonium metallurgist 在LANL.  This award is given to an undergraduate student chosen by NMT MTLS faculty based on academic excellence and awarded by ASM (American Society for Metals) International, Los Alamos Chapter.

ASM International Albuquerque Chapter … $2,000 (one-time)

Awarded to undergraduate and/or graduate students.  This is a merit-based scholarship where students will be evaluated upon their academic, leadership, and/or research achievements, as well as their interest in materials science and engineering. The selection process will take into consideration each applicant’s unique life experience, background, and plans for the future.

American Institute of Steel Construction Scholarships for Materials/Metallurgical Engineering Majors

AISC, with funding from the AISC Education Foundation and our partner organizations within the steel construction community, will award more than $188,000 in approximately 50 individual student scholarships--and this opportunity is now open to materials/metallurgical engineering majors.

These scholarships are open to full-time junior-, senior-, and master's-level students majoring in civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, materials/metallurgical engineering, or architecture. 学生 一定是你.S. citizens to apply. Charles Javorsky is a retired metallurgist from Los Alamos National Labs.  This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students showing academic excellence (GPA of at least 3.0) and have financial need.
